Kadgi /Gidgi sukke

           This is a simple  super tasty side dish of tender jack fruit  and  a super combination with rice and Dali thoy. This is an another yummy dish from amchi cochin GSB.
  1. Tender jack fruit. –  ½  of a medium size.
  2. Grated coconut – 3 tbsp
  3. Red chilli flakes – 2  tsp
  4. Haldi Powder-  ½  tsp
  5. Dharambya sol  a very small piece
  6. Oil -1 tbsp
  7. Mustard seeds -1 tsp
  8. Urad dal -2 tsp
  9. Methi seeds -½ tsp
  10. Salt to taste.
Kadgi /Gidgi sukke   

                                         Peel  and cut tender jack fruit in to pieces.

                                                    Wash and pressure cook it.
                                   When it is cooked mash manually and keep aside.
                                     Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and Urad dal.
                    When mustard seeds splutters add methi seeds and red chilli flakes. Sauté well.
                         Now add grated coconut, haldi powder and  Dharambya sol. Sauté well.
                                       Add cooked, mashed tender jack fruit.
                                                     Add salt and mix well.
                                       Cook it in a low flame till the dish becomes dry.
           “Kadgi / Gidgi Sukke” is ready to serve as a side dish with hot rice.
             If you are not using Dharambya sol, you can very well skip it by changing red chilly flakes to 1 tsp
