Bangbale Kele Ghassi

                    Bangbale kele or   Plantains are popularly used  for making upkaris or fries… But this curry served as a main course one is one of the tastiest recipes of raw bananas..    

   Ingredients :-                                            

1. Raw banana cut in bit large squares – 2
2. Coconut grated  – 1 cup
3. Red chillies – 10 to 12
4. Urad dal   – 2 tsp
5. Tamarind  – small piece

Method :-

  • Roast urad dal and the red chillies in little oil till they turn reddish.
  • Grind them along with grated coconut and tamarind to a smooth paste.
  • Cook the banana pieces adding sufficient water and salt.
  • When the bananas are soft ,add the ground paste to the pieces..
  • Let it boil well and then turn off.,
  • Season with mustard ,curry leaves and few methi seeds…

Enjoy with rice.!!

    1. My mother used to make Kele Koddela – so delish. Looking at the picture, was reminded of it. She used peeled green plantain, sliced 1/2\” thick sliced, coconut masala with one clove garlic and used garlic with skin for phanna. My mouth waters just from the thought of the taste!
