This is an age old & traditional Konkani Recipe prepared with Wheat Flour…A good time pass snack for the little children . litlle bits of folded paper used to be given to the kids to eat this .

- Wheat flour – 1 cup
- Red Chilly Powder – 2 Tbsp
- Jeera/Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method;
- Dry roast wheat flour in a non stick pan till its raw smell goes. Keep aside..
- In the same nonstick pan, heat very little oil..Splutter jeera & Add red chilly powder & saute for 2 secs keeping flame on sim. Quickly remove from flame… Take care not to burn the chilly powder.
- After removing from flame, add required salt & asafoetida & mix well.. Now add the roasted wheat powder to this spices & mix thoroughly.
- Dhaadu is ready.. While serving the same, sprinkle some oil on top & enjoy..
Dhaadu can also be made with Rice too
. Ingredients –
- Boiled rice – 1 cup
- Ragi / nanchono – 1 cup
- Chana dal – 1/2 cup
- Moong dal – 1/2 cup
- Red Chillies – 6-8 as per taste
- Peppercorns – 6 -8
- Hing – 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method :-
- Roast all the ingredients except the hing & salt .
- Grind all ingredients to a fine powder .
- Add the hing and salt
- Serve mixed with coconut oil!
