Thiksani Dhaadu

                        This is an age old & traditional Konkani Recipe prepared with Wheat Flour…A good time pass  snack for the little  children . litlle bits of folded paper used to be given to the kids  to eat this .
Ingredients

  • Wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Red Chilly Powder – 2 Tbsp
  • Jeera/Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste 

Method;

  1. Dry roast wheat flour in a non stick pan till its raw smell goes. Keep aside.. 
  2. In the same nonstick pan, heat very little oil..Splutter jeera & Add red chilly powder & saute for 2 secs keeping flame on sim. Quickly remove from flame… Take care not to burn the chilly powder. 
  3. After removing from flame, add required salt & asafoetida & mix well.. Now add the roasted wheat powder to this spices & mix thoroughly. 
  4. Dhaadu is ready.. While serving the same, sprinkle some oil on top & enjoy.. 

Dhaadu can also be made with Rice too 

. Ingredients – 
  • Boiled rice – 1 cup 
  • Ragi / nanchono – 1 cup 
  • Chana dal – 1/2  cup 
  • Moong dal – 1/2 cup
  • Red Chillies – 6-8 as per taste 
  • Peppercorns – 6 -8 
  •  Hing – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste 

Method :- 

  1.  Roast all the ingredients  except  the hing & salt .
  2. Grind all ingredients  to a fine powder .
  3.  Add the hing and salt 
  4. Serve mixed with coconut oil!
