Bondi pakkoda

                                       Banana flower Pakkoda ( Bondi pakkoda)
We GSB’s are famous for preparing delicious dishes from whatever vegetables  we get … this pakkoda or ambado is such a superb recipe which I learnt from my mother-in-law. It was  one of her super hit recipes.

  • Chopped banana flower – 2 cups
  • Medium sized onion – 1 chopped finely
  • Green chillies – 3 chopped finely
  • Ginger   – 1 tsp
  • Besan   –  2 or 3 tbsp
  • Rice flour – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Curry leaves   – 2 sprigs


  1. Mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Do not add a single drop of water .
  3. As soon as you add salt ,the water will naturally ooze out from the mix which will be sufficient for binding the pakkodas.
  4. Now make some small balls out of the mix and deep fry in oil .
            Serve hot as snacks with tea / coffee
