Avalo Sukke

You can used brined avalos / gooseberries to make this sukke

Ingredients :
  • Salted Avalo (goose berry)   – 2 nos
  • Grated coconut – 2 tbsp
  • Chilly powder   – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder –  a pinch         

For seasoning:-

  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard – 1tsp 
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  1. Cut avalo into cubes ,deseed it
  2. Heat oil a kadai add mustard when it splutters add chopped avalo.
  3. Saute for few minutes cover with a lid till cooked
  4. Coarsely grind 2,3 &4 ingredients 
  5. Add the ground paste 
  6. Add salt to taste
  7. Dish is ready
  8. Goes well with Pejj (kanji) or Rice
Can use fresh  avalos too . Cook in hot water for a  few minutes then follow as above  .
