Udida ghari is a very tasty snack .It’s a typical Cochin GSB’s tea time snack and also made for some religious functions too. You can find the recipe for it here . You can also make this very tasty Sassam with the remaining gharis . This recipe is by Jayashri Shenoy akka
Ingredients :-
- Udida ghari – 10 to12 nos.
- Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
- Red Chillies – 2
- Jeera – 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Curds – 1/2 cup
- Mustard – 1tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Oil for tempering
Method :-
- Grind the coconut , red chillies & jeera to a smoooth paste using a little water .
- Add the paste to a bowl . add salt to taste
- Add the curds and whisk well .
- Drop the gharis in it .
- Make a tempering of the mustard and curry leaves .
- Pour over the sassam .
- Enjoy as a side dish or as such .
- No need to heat . refrigerate leftovers .
- Do not add the gharis when they are hot .
