Birmi karambala (Bimbul ) Theek Humman
This is an unique yummy recipe of Cochin G.S.B.   I here by convey my sincere thanks to my all sister in laws for giving me a very good number of Cochinside yummy recipes which they inherited from my M I L.

  1. 10. Birmi karambal
  2. 15. Red chilly (Ramnad)
  3. 1 Onion
  4. 10 Shallots
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Oil 3 tbsp
  7. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  8. Urad dal 1 tsp
  9. Methi seeds 1 tsp
  10. Hing  1 chickpea size… good quality
  11. Curry Leaves few
                                                       Birmi karambala  Theek Humman
  • Wash, cut  and cook Birmi karambal  with chopped Onion, salt and little water.
  •  Grind red chilly to a fine paste and add to it .mix well and cook 
  • .Season with mustard seeds, Urad dal, Methi seeds, Hing and curry leaves.
  • Chop shallots, fry it in oil till golden brown … add the fried shallots along with the left out  oil to it
  •  Mix well.

Birmi karambala Theek Humman is ready…..Wait for a while to settle and serve with Idli, Dosa, Rice etc.

Key Note
We can also prepare Theek Humman using with Raw Mango,  Karambal, Ambado etc…..…You can also use  Chilly powder.
