Breadfruit (jeev kadgi ) sukkhe.

                                    Bread fruit or jeevkadgi is one of the favorite seasonal delicacies of GSB community. We love almost every dishes prepared with it and sukkhe is one among them.
1. Bread fruit cut in medium sized pieces – 2 cups
2. Grated coconut     – 1 cup
3. Coriander seeds  –  2 tsp
4. Urad dal   -1 and half tsp
5. Dried red chillies   – 10 to 12
6. Tamarind   – small piece
7. Onion    – 1 medium sized 

  Method :-
  • Pressure cook the breadfruit for one or two continuous whistles in high flame and then turn off. 
  • Now fry the red chillies,coriander seeds and urad dal together in little oil . 
  • Grind the fried ingredients along with the grated coconut and tamarind a bit coarsely. 
  • In a pan heat oil and temper with mustard ,methi seeds and curry leaves 
  • Add onion sliced and saute till they turn transparent 
  • Add the cooked bread fruit pieces along with salt and around 1/2 cup of water. 
  • Now add the ground coconut paste and mix well. Let it boil . 
  • Turn off when d curry reaches a semi thick consistency. 
  • The tasty sukkhe is ready to relish.
