                                      Bimbuls – the cute tangy fruits are almost an inevitable part of GSB  cuisine. We can always find a tree in almost all amchi backyards. We can add them in all curries replacing tamarind which bring their own lovely taste. Today am introducing a very simple recipe with bimbuls called as gojju in konkani.It can be served as a superb tangy and spicy side dish with rice. I learnt it from my grandmom.

Ingredients:-

  • Bimbuls     – 5
  • Onion  – 1 medium sized
  • Green chillies – 5 to 7
  • Fried red chillies – 2
  • Coconut oil   – 2 tsp
    Method:-
  1. Cook the bimbul adding water till they turn soft.
  2. Chop the onion and green chillies finely.
  3. Crush them slightly .
  4. Now smash the bimbuls and mix it with the crushed onion and green chillies.
  5. Add finely chopped red chillies too.
  6. Mix all.
  7. Pour coconut oil on top.
  8. The very simple yet tasty ,lip smacking gojju is ready.
