Gova peeta polo/Wheat flour dosas

                    Wheat flour dosas are instant dosas which does not require fermentation.They can be prepared quickly without worrying about the soaking or the grinding part.It is also called as gova peeta phanna polo as some add seasoning to the batter before preparing dosas as ‘phanna’ means seasoning in Konkani.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup of wheat flour
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Oil for frying
For seasoning:
  1. 1/2 tsp oil 
  2. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Method:
  • Prepare the seasoning and keep it aside.
  • Take the wheat flour in a bowl and add water to make a batter of medium consistency.It should neither be thick like idli batter nor watery and without lumps. 
  • Add salt and pour the prepared seasoning.
  • The batter will look like in the below picture –   


                                  Heat the tava and grease it with oil.
             Keep the heat on medium and spread the batter to make thin dosas as shown below..

                                  Drizzle some oil and let it roast for a minute or so.
                         Flip it over to roast the other side also.The bottom side of the dosa would have turned golden as shown in the picture. 

                       Prepare remaining dosas similarly and serve with chutney of your choice.

Notes:

    You can also add minced green chillies,grated ginger,coconut gratings to the batter along with the seasoning and also curry lea
