Biscuit Ambado

            This is a tasty evening snack with a cup of coffee


  • 1 Pav  – urad dal
  • 12 –  green chillies chopped
  • 2 tbsp –  coconut ( I’ve added the pieces here  to get the crunchy taste )
  • curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • a pinch of hing
  • salt to taste 
  • Oil for deep  frying

Method :

  1. Soak 1 cup urad dal for 2 hrs.. drain completely and wet grind with very little water..
  2. The batter should be thick.. ( otherwise it will soak oil while frying )
  3. Add  the chopped green chillies , curry leaves , ginger ,  salt &  sliced fresh coconut pieces ..
  4. Mix well  &  leave for 1/2 hr..
  5. Heat oil and drop spoonfuls of batter in the oil ;
  6. Take them out when they have fried to a  crisp golden colour .

 Serve  the wadas ( ambados )hot with delicious sambhar and coconut chutney..
