Bondi -Bikkanda Upkari ..(Banana Flower & Jackfruit Seed Mixed Stir Fry )
I am a great fan of mixed upkaris ..and my grandma always prepares such combo upkaris which tastes awesome when two different flavours blend together to give a magical taste. Banana flower and jackfruit seeds upkari is one such dish which is mostly prepared during the jackfruit season….so you can call it as a traditional seasonal upkari.
Ingredients:-

Banana flower and jackfruit seeds upkari is one such dish which is mostly prepared during the jackfruit season….so you can call it as a traditional seasonal upkari.

- Banana flower chopped – 2 cups
- Jackfruit seeds chopped in tiny pieces – 1 cup
- Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
- Jaggery – a small piece
- Salt to taste
for seasoning
- Mustard – 1 tsp
- Urad dal – 1 tsp
- Red chillies – 4 to 6
Method ;-
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and temper the ingredients coming under the seasoning head
- Add peeled & chopped jackfruit seeds .
- Saute for a few minutes.
- Add the chopped banana flower
- Add required salt and the piece of jaggery.
- Cover it and keep on low flame.
- No need of adding water.
- Cook till its done….
- Add grated coconut ,,mix well and keep on low flame for 5 more minutes and turn off.
Tasty bondi bikkanda upkari is ready..!!
